Two new young volunteers join Lucketts VFC (read more . . .)

We’re especially pleased to welcome two new young members to the Lucketts Volunteer Fire Company!

Kiah Hering-Stotzer (pictured above, attending the county’s recent monthly New Volunteer Orientation) is studying for her bachelor’s degree in Biobehavioral Health at Penn State. She has a strong interest in emergency medicine and has already received her certification in Basic Life Support as an EMT. A German citizen, she attended high school in Loudoun and was motivated to volunteer from a personal family tragedy—her brother’s death due to fentanyl poisoning. She says she wanted “to join an organization in which I can prevent issues like this from taking more lives. I am looking forward to making an impact on my community and helping people feel okay during their most vulnerable moments.”

Thank you Kiah, and we are very grateful for your willingness to help others in this exemplary fashion.

Jonathan Liu is a student at Riverside High School in Leesburg and has joined the Company as a Junior Member. Lucketts is one of the volunteer fire and rescue companies in Loudoun that offer this unique opportunity to 16 and 17 year olds to receive training and experience as firefighters and EMTs.

It’s folks like Kiah and Jonathan who are keeping the great tradition of volunteer fire companies alive, and we are thrilled to have them join us.
